Dubai: Around 89 video monitors have been installed by the authorities at Dubai Metro stations to allow the passengers to get real time information on buses plying across different routes.

The Public Transport Agency at the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has recently completed the installation of the video monitors on the Red and Green Line stations of the Dubai Metro.

It will allow metro riders to check the availability of buses, both arrival and departure schedules, particularly the metro feeder service, officials said.

Adel Shakiri, Director of Transportation Systems at the Public Transport Agency said that the information displayed would be updated within less than a minute of the expect bus arrival time at the station. Information would be displayed in Arabic and English languages and the Operations Control Center at the Agency would attend to monitoring and tracking all buses to ensure their compliance with the information displayed for the metro riders.

“These clear and easy to read monitors are installed in response to passengers’ demands. Such information is crucial for identifying the most efficient routes in terms of transit time and number of stops between the departure point and final destination,” he added.
