Dubai: Conning girls may be a way of life in his latest movie but smooth-talking Ranveer Singh didn't sit so comfortably at a press conference for the flick at the Dubai International Film Festival.

"Who says you even con me?" fired over a feisty Anushka Sharma as Singh considered who he preferred to con.

Sharma plays one of three ladies the charming Singh deceives - or believes he is deceiving, in Maneesh Sharma's Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.

The film, which enjoyes its world premiere at Diff on Thursday night, reunites the award-winning team of 2010 success Band Baajaa Baaraat.

At a packed press conference at the Madinat Arena, the stars were in good form and answers questions from the floor for more than 40 minutes.

"All the girls were so different but they all brought something so unique to the performance. It was definitely distinctly different with each of the ladies. One thing I would say about Anushka is that she always makes my performances better just by being so present. She compels you to be present. She compels you to up your game as an actor and really the match between us, I'll be the first to admit, leads to an extraordinary chemistry."

It was an odd line considering Sharma has spent the past weeks expressing her annoyance at the world's media for linking the both relatively new actors romantically.

"It irks me to read about link-ups with Ranveer. It's irritating, but what do you do? The fact is that anybody can pick up a pen and write anything. That's our sad reality," she told tabloid! in an interview this week.
