A Toyota Land Cruiser might be the bread and butter around here, but for those who have the means to dine on bread and caviar, there is always the Lexus GX460.

Basically the same car as the Land Cruiser, but with some ‘L’ badges and softer leather, the new GX460 for the 2012 model year has just been released in the GCC with a host of additional changes. Included are new wheel designs with a high gloss finish, and a Platinum grade which benefits from a Mark Levinson audio system and rear seat entertainment. Serving all four wheels is still the 292bhop 4.6-litre V8 driving the wheels through a six-speed slush ‘box.

If you enjoy tackling the rough stuff in utter comfort, this 2012 Lexus comes armed with crawl control, steering angle indicator, sophisticated braking and traction control system, and a multi-terrain selector letting you choose between mud and sand, loose rock, and rock. Additionally a multi-terrain monitor uses cameras to show the driver what obstacles surround the car.

The GX460 comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty starting at Dh248,000.
