Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) has signed an agreement with Emirates Transport to provide supervisors with school buses.

The agreement aims to provide safety and security for students and was signed between Mubarak Saeed Al Shamisi, Director General, ADEC and Mohammad Al Jarmin, Executive Director, Emirates Transport.

More than 590 supervisors appointed by ADEC will be accompanying students in addition to performing some administrative work.

Each supervisor will be provided with training. ADEC is currently working to provide all kindergartens in Abu Dhabi with bus supervisors.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated development, registration for the next academic year in public schools and kindergartens across the UAE will commence tomorrow.

UAE nationals can start registering their children during the school's operating hours, while expatriate pupils can register in grades 1 to 12 from May 4. The registration. Expatriate students can also register provided they meet some conditions.

The pupil must have an exceptional academic performance with a grade average of 90 per cent in Maths, English, and Science in the previous academic year and in the entry examination.
