Dubai : West Indies Academy team ended their UAE tour on a high note winning all their six matches at the International Cricket Council (ICC) Global Cricket Academy Oval grounds in Dubai Sports City.

In the final match of the tour, West Indies recorded an emphatic nine-wicket win over UAE in a Twenty20 match last night. West Indies bowled out UAE for 98 runs in 19.4 overs and won the match in just six overs.

The chief destroyer of the UAE innings was 22-year-old Jamaica born leg spinner Nkrumah Bonner. He bagged four wickets for 18 runs backed by medium pacer Brandon Bess who took two wickets for 13 runs.

For UAE, Shaimon Anwar top scored with 23 runs.

West Indies chased the moderate total briskly with opener Kyle Corbin hitting 53 runs off just 21 balls with six fours and four sixes. Rajendra Chandrika, who hit a century against Afghanistan in the 50 over match, remained unbeaten on 34. Corbin and Chandrika put on 92 runs.

In the ongoing Al Taher Spices Cup domestic cricket tournament at the Seven Seas ground, Shafaqat of Seven Seas Strikers produced a deadly six-wicket spell to guide his team to a 99-run win over Shahzad Cricket Club.

Breezy knock

Batting first, Seven Seas scored 248 for 4 in 25 overs through Baber Ali's breezy 73 off just 30 balls with ten boundaries and two sixes. He was assisted by Qadar Nawaz, who also hit 64 runs.

Shahzad Club was bowled out for 149 runs due to Shafaqat's spell backed by Farhan, who also took three wickets. In another match, NTDE beat Quality Rental by 8 wickets.
