Manama: Gulf ministers have agreed on a unified blacklist of terrorists and terror suspects, a Kuwaiti daily said.

The move aims to restrict their movements and their contacts with terrorist cells in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the Arab world and other areas that support terror, Al Jareeda reported on Wednesday.

The blacklist will be used to bar Gulf and foreign suspects and terrorists from leaving or entering the countries six-member alliance.

Under a security protocol, any terrorist or terror suspect held by a GCC country will be handed to his country of origin, the daily said, quoting "leading security sources" it did not identify.

The announcement of the black list move comes days after Osama Bin Laden, the head of Al Qaida, was killed in Pakistan.

According to Al Jareeda, Kuwaiti authorities pledged to take action against anyone who would praise Bin Laden or call for special funeral prayers.

Clashes erupted this week at Al Ihsan Mosque in Kuwait after religious activists insisted on holding funeral prayers and a eulogy for Bin laden despite the rejection of both moves by some worshippers. The mosque imam was hurt in the melee and one man was held by the police on assault charges.
