Dubai: A bus driver whose attempt to molest a woman was foiled by her kicks will spend three months in jail, a court ruled on Thursday.

The Dubai Court of First Instance found the 31-year-old Pakistani driver, Q.K., guilty of attempted molestation. He will be deported after serving his jail term.

The victim, a 28-year-old Filipina sales executive, gave the accused "a valuable lesson in life" when she stopped him from molesting her by kicking him after he attacked her.

Q.K. denied the charge and pleaded not guilty.

He claimed that he quarrelled with the woman, identified as M.N., and when she tried to jump from the bus he held her "but she bit my finger and I stopped and let her off [the bus]."

M.N. said: "I asked the driver to take me to Media City. He claimed that he had to stop in Al Baraha . He closed the curtain above my seat and tried to molest me but I kicked him hard in his private parts."
