Sharjah: Rasheed Khan and Hashmat Khan scored scintillating half-centuries to guide Afridi CC to a fine 32-run victory over a powerful Yogi Group side in the Bukhatir League A Division at the Sharjah Stadium on Tuesday night.
Rasheed hit 59 off 41 balls with seven fours and four sixes while Hashmat chipped in with 57 off 37 balls with seven fours and two sixes to propel Afridi CC to a healthy score of 269 in the competition organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council.
Shahzad Manna (34), Saqib Rashid (33), Abdullah Azhar (29) and Usman Zarbadshah (21) also made useful contributions.
Shiva was the most successful Yogi Group bowler, taking three wickets for 40 runs while Arshad Iqbal and Mohammad Ajmal picked up two each.Yogi Group, in reply, were bowled out for 237 in the 45th over with Mohammad Naveed taking three wickets for 51 runs.
Playing their part
Manna, Irfan Akram and Hashmat all grabbed two wickets to play their part in restricting the Yogi Group batsmen.
Former Ranji Trophy player Swapnil Patil top-scored for Yogi Group with 54 off 57 balls with five fours.
Sandeep Singh (46 off 74 balls) and Avadoot (40) also made good starts, but failed to convert them into big innings they needed to match the asking rate.
