Colombo: Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara is confident that his team can conquer the Australians today at the Premadasa Stadium. He will be using his spin attack, which is his team's biggest weapon, to expose Australia's weakness against spin.

"There's a possibility of us going with three spin bowlers. We'll have a chat with the selectors later in the day and see whether that is the best way to go forward," he said.

Muttiah Muralitharan, Rangana Herath and Ajantha Mendis were seen bowling at the nets for nearly an hour yesterday.

Incidentally, Herath and Mendis are considered mystery spinners.

Pressure

"Even our pacers Lasith [Malinga] and Angelo Mathews can put pressure on them," he added.

However, Sangakkara candidly admitted that his batsmen will have to rise to the challenge.

"There will not be any changes to our middle order. It is only a question of our batsmen taking up the responsibility and make sure to get a good score."

Sangakkara said that they have managed to wipe away the disappointment of their defeat against Pakistan.

"We have moved on from that defeat. We played aggressively against Kenya and we are very positive about our chances in this match. We have a great combination and if we can also bowl and field aggressively we can do it," he said.
