Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, yesterday ordered the distribution of 1,000 houses in Oud Al Matina among UAE nationals of limited income.
Widows and divorced women registered at the Mohammad Bin Rashid Housing Establishment will be among those who benefit from the houses to be distributed.
Shaikh Mohammad approved a youth housing project in Al Barsha, which includes 1,500 villas at a cost of Dh2.7 billion, to be completed in 39 months.
He also ordered the distribution of 1,500 land plots in various areas in Dubai among citizens who could build their own houses. The total value of the houses and plots to be distributed is Dh9 billion.
Shaikh Mohammad yesterday visited Oud Al Matina housing project for Emiratis of limited income and reviewed the designs and internal equipment of the houses, making sure they meet the environmental, health and recreational conditions that he instructed earlier to provide a decent life for citizens.

Shaikh Mohammad was briefed about the establishment's residential projects in Al Barsha, Al Muhaisena, Oud Al Matina and Al Warqa. He reviewed the plans of the projects, which include more than 10,000 residential units of various architectural designs, and issued instructions to build as many houses as needed to provide suitable housing for every Emirati man and woman.
Shaikh Mohammad stressed that citizens' needs of facilities and services must be taken into consideration, pointing out that being settled in one's house reflects positively on his family life, education, work and loyalty to his country.
Shaikh Mohammad also visited the 940-villa Oud Al Matina youth housing project and Al Warqa villa project, which includes 544 vilas for young nationals.
He issued instructions to accelerate completion of the houses to allow people to move in as soon as possible.
Shaikh Mohammad stressed that he will provide housing for every Emirati, especially limited income families who have no provider, and widows and divorced women, who are given priority.
