Abu Dhabi: Police and Civil Defence managed to save the lives of a seven-member Emirati family after a fire broke out in their house in Al Manaseer Area in Abu Dhabi on Saturday afternoon, police officials said.
The houseowner sustained minor injury but no one else was injured in the fire.
Police patrols and three vehicles from the Civil Defence along with Police Ambulance arrived at the scene immediately after receiving a report about the fire.
The fire erupted in the main entrance of the house and spread to the higher floor, according to Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Hamad Al Hannai, Head of the Al Khalidiya Police Station.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Hannai said that policemen and fire-fighters managed to put the blaze out and saved the lives of the seven-member family.
Putting out the fire took 30 minutes. Police will investigate the cause of the fire, he said.
