Dubai: Seventh seed Marta Sirotkina of Russia will take on Mihaela Buzarnescu of Romania in the final of the Al Habtoor Future Challenge to be played at the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort and Spa on Saturday.
In yesterday's semi-finals, Buzarnescu stunned second seed Yuliana Fedak 6-3, 6-3, while Sirotkina tamed Julia Babilon of Germany 7-6 (3), 6-3 to set up a summit clash this evening.
"Now that I have reached so far, I want to give it my best and ensure myself a win going into next week's tournament that is going to be a hard one," Buzarnescu told Gulf News.
"We have some top-100 players coming for the event next week, so I need to get as much practice as possible," the Romanian added.
The Sirotkina versus Buzarnescu final will be held at 3.30 pm today and entry for general public is free.
The Al Habtoor Future Challenge is a brand-new tournament with a prize fund of $10,000 (Dh36,700) that has been set up by Khalaf Al Habtoor to prepare players for the annual Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge that gets under way with the qualifying rounds from today.
