Abu Dhabi: Etisalat joined thousands of Emiratis and expatriates in celebrating the UAE’s 39th National Day.
A huge balloon carrying the UAE flag marked the festive spirit. Food was abundant as women dressed in traditional attire prepared food not often found in today's modern restaurants.
Emirati women weaved baskets using softened bamboo and moulded wicker into a variety of artecrafts of different shapes and sizes, while others used gold and silver thread to imprint custom-made designs on traditional abayas.
People enjoyed the taste of cardamom-based Arabic coffee.
Sweets and desserts were readily available - from chocolates and local sweets to dates, there was a huge variety. Etisalat also made a huge cake, shaped and coloured like the UAE flag.
