Bihar: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has scotched rumours about any alliance with the Congress party following the completion of the ongoing legislative assembly elections in the state.

In what is bound to soothe junior partner Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kumar said that he would continue to work with the BJP.

"I am a product of the Jai Prakash Narayan movement and that doesn't even come in my line of thinking. I have good relations with the BJP and have had a good experience of working with them. That's why I am still working with them and will continue to do so," Kumar told news channel CNN-IBN in an interview while responding to a question if he was waiting for an opportunity to dump the BJP and join hands with the Congress party.

Kumar has been at the receiving end of barbs by the senior Congress leaders for his continued alliance with the pro-Hindu BJP, raising questions over his commitment to secularism, in its bid to deny Kumar's Janata Dal (United) the crucial Muslim votes.
