Abu Dhabi: Other than offering free medical check ups in various shopping malls, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) have now organised a comprehensive disease prevention guideline for members of the public during Ramadan.

Educational brochures and information by health professionals from the Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a Seha facility, will be distributed at shopping malls and health centres across the Emirate, with tips on diseases such as Aids and HIV, hepatitis A, B and C, and cancer.

The second annual "Healthy Living during Ramadan 2010 Campaign" also includes demonstrative instructions on the usage of car safety seats for children, and health care tips during Ramadan.

Some of the disease prevention tips include precautions to take to protect from HIV. Common types of cancers and steps to lower risks, such as quitting smoking, regular medical checks, increasing consumption of green vegetables, avoiding alcohol; and signs and symptoms of hepatitis A, B and C.

The campaign will also promote information on blood pressure, diabetes, skin care and oral hygiene.

The Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a Seha facility, will be providing free health checks and disease prevention guidelines under the Healthy Living during Ramadan 2010 Campaign:

  • From 8.30pm to 12 midnight daily.
  • Until September 9.
  • In Abu Dhabi Mall, Marina Mall, Al Raha Mall, Al Ain Mall, Bawadi Mall as well as in various health centres in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi.
