Dubai: Prominent speakers from inside and outside the Arab media sector have been chosen carefully for this year's Arab Media Forum, to reflect the true picture of the scene, according to Mariam Bin Fahd, Executive Director, Dubai Press Club.

The line-up includes more than 600 eminent journalists and academics from different parts of the world, including some of the world's top names in the field of journalism.

"The Arab Media Forum is widely regarded as an authentic and hugely inclusive platform that encourages wide-ranging discussions on the media in the region. As such, we are trying our best to come up with programmes that show the reality of the media industry, which has been keeping pace with global changes in a way that attracted the attention of the world. We are confident that the Forum this year will generate lasting ideas that not only describe the state of the media, but also point in directions for the future," Mariam previously said.

"The Arab Media Forum has been able to attract the best names from the industry, thanks to its preeminent position in the media sector, and it will go a long way in ensuring high quality of debates and discussions, that will not only generate great ideas, but also recommendations and suggestions for a better future for the media in the region," she added.

Sessions will be moderated (among others) by Khadeja Bin Genna, Anchor, Al Jazeera Channel, Safia Al Shehi, Anchor, Sama Dubai Channel, Cyba Audi, Anchor, Al Arabiya Channel, Diana Moukalled, Anchor, Future TV, and Eman Ayad, Anchor, Al Jazeera News Channel.

The eight Arab Media Forum, organised by the Dubai Press Club, will be held on May 11 and 12 at the Atlantis Hotel. The Arab Journalism Awards will be held at the close of the Forum, honouring outstanding work in Arabic-language journalism.
