Muscat: Students from various universities and colleges will attend the Impact conference hosted by AIESEC, the world’s largest youth-run organisation, in Muscat from June 30 to July 3 to empower youth to take up leadership roles.
“The highlight of the conference is the Youth Leaders Forum on June 30, which will bring together the top 100 young people from Muscat’s premier colleges and universities and 30 corporate guests from the best companies,” Anjali Thakrar, president, AIESEC-Oman, said at a press conference.
“The Young Leaders Forum, which will be held at College of Banking and Financial Studies, will provide an opportunity for students to interact with Oman’s finest facilitators. The Youth Leaders Forum revolves around AIESEC’s five themes-global mindset, entrepreneurial outlook, emotional intelligence, proactive learning and social responsibility,” Anjali said.
“Students will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Omantel, MB Holding and Tawasul Global Connections Centre,” Aisha Al Mahrami, director of external relations, AIESEC-Oman, said.
Renaissance CEO Stephen Thomas and Aisha Al Kharusi, head of corporate communications, National Bank of Oman (NBO) are among the speakers, who will address the young leaders’ forum.
The Global Village, to be held at the Muscat City Centre on July 1, will have participation from over 20 countries. "Entry is free of charge for the public, who will get a diverse cultural experience,” Faseeh Abdul Aziz, president, organising committee, said.
