Dubai: Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Health, has called for the application of modern systems to upgrade and develop human resources skills in the field of nursing under the supervision of the UAE Nursing Council.

This was stated after Dr Hassan met Dr Linda Aiken, Nursing Professor at Pennsylvania University, US, and an international expert in the field of nursing research.

They reviewed research studies and nursing human resources and their role in developing the quality of health care services in medical centres and hospitals. Also present were Dr Salem Al Darmaki, Acting Director-General of the Ministry, Dr Fatima Al Rifaee, Director of Nursing, Central Administration, and a number of officials from the field for nursing.

The minister also tackled with the expert the importance of supporting nursing human resources and encouraging them to raise their skills, educational and training capabilities to improve their performance and achieve quality and excellence in the health sector.

Dr Hanif called to apply the expert's studies through the UAE Nursing Council.
