Abu Dhabi: The President of the UAE Cup Series for Purebred Arabian horses for 2010 was launched yesterday and the first stop will be at the Abu Dhabi Irish Guineas Festival at the Curragh in Ireland next month.

In a message to mark the unveiling the 2010 calendar, Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Emirates Equestrian Federation (EEF) said: "Through the collaboration of our partners, the 2010 season of the President of the UAE Cup Series will expand its original mission to now promote and raise the profile of Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a business and tourism destination".

Taleb Daher Al Muhairi, EEF Secretary General said: "We are thrilled to have the ongoing support of our existing racecourse partners such as Newmarket, Ascot, Paris and Moscow, as well as, introduce the series at highly-prestigious racetracks, such as the Curragh and Keeneland."

"We are confident that this year's schedule will attract the most talented Purebred Arabian horses."

Evan Arkwright, Commercial Manager of the Curragh Racecourse said: "Curragh has a 300-year history of horse racing and with all the five Classics of Ireland being held there this year's President of the UAE Cup Series for Purebred Arabian horses is an exciting initiative."
