"The news that Kochi has become the latest team to join IPL will make many cricketers who are working here now and had represented Kerala in Ranji Trophy very proud," said Santosh, who has hit five half centuries and a century and bagged 65 Ranji Trophy wickets for Kerala.
"I sincerely hope that this will also benefit state cricket and give opportunities to some of Kerala's best players who need exposure," added Santosh. "Kerala has some very good hard hitters now. Recently we had Kerala's Raiphi Vincent Gomes hit 34 runs in one over against Hyderabad in Subbiah Pilliai one-day tournament. If such players can get a chance and they manage to play two good knocks it can boost their confidence to stake a claim for big cricket," said Santosh.
