Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) is hosting a concert on February 25 to mark the 35th death anniversary of the legendary Arab diva Umm Kalthoum.

Egyptian singer Amal Maher will perform with 55 musicians from Umm Kalthoum Musical band led by conductor Khalid Fouad at Emirates Palace as part of the last Thursday concert of every month and Sound of Arabia programmes presented by ADACH. Umm Kalthoum's music symbolises a beautiful era in Arab arts by her authentic Tarab singing.

Umm Kalthoum was born in 1904 in a small village in Egypt and became the top Arab star in the 20th century when she moved to Cairo and met great composers and poets. She died on November 3, 1975.

ADACH aims to help audience enjoy the great Arab music. ADACH recently hosted top Arab divas Mayada Al Hinawi and Majida Al Roumi.
