Baghdad: Former raqi Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Aziz was jailed for 15 years Wednesday and two of Saddam Hussain's half brothers were sentenced to death for their roles in the killings of dozens of traders in 1992.

The traders were executed after being accused of hiking prices of goods in breach of state price controls, when Iraq's economy was collapsing as a result of UN sanctions imposed after its 1990 invasion of Kuwait.

"The court has ruled that Watban Ebrahim Al Hassan ... and Sabaawi Ebrahim Al Hassan be hanged until death for committing a premeditated killing ... a crime against humanity," Judge Raouf Abdul Rahman said.

Sabaawi was Saddam's head of public security at the time and Watban was interior minister.

If this ruling is right then the US ex-president should be tried under Iraqi law for mass murder of Iraqi peoples during the war, which is still continuing. First US said its war on WMD but later differred and thousands of people killed and many became widows. i heard from a news agency there are 500,000 widow due to this war. So i think ex-US president should be tried for mass muder, spreading terror in Iraq and made thousands homeless and made Iraq a dangerous place. what you think, who deserve maximum sentence?

This is totally unfair. One year jail was enough. And death sentence for half brothers of Saddam Hussain is also very wrong. It is impossibe for some government in the world to utilise power in a right way every time. There might be chances even for wrong. If it is justice, then there should be probe against other leaders of the world, whether they are belonging on national level or internationally.
