Abu Dhabi: More than 140 patients who are covered with the National Health Insurance Company (Daman) are now being offered ambulatory healthcare services under the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) in Al Samha.
There are currently a total of 35 SEHA ambulatory healthcare services (AHS) across Abu Dhabi that were formed to create a standardised healthcare system that offers medical services of a hospital mixed with personalised care that small clinics or a private sector offers.
Dr Fawaghi Rashid, health operation supervisor at Al Samha Healthcare Centre, told Gulf News that among the diverse specialisations offered at the centre, Maternity and Gynecology have been recently introduced two weeks ago, to offer neo-natal care services to pregnant women.
There are 50 staff members at the centre, some of which include doctors and nurses who specialise in various departments including: General and family medicine; orthopedics; oral surgery; general surgery; dermatology; endocrinology and a diabetic clinic; pediatrics and soon dental implantation.
Wednesday morning also witnessed a diabetic education day where specialists spoke to patients about the disease. A daily public health education day takes place every morning to educate patients about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
"Patients who require specialised medical consultations must make appointments two weeks prior to their medical check-up. General and family medicine is serviced immediately and we never say no to any emergency cases. Even though we are only requested to accept Daman and Thiqa card holders, we are open to receiving any patients under any health insurance scheme," affirmed Rashid.
