Sharjah: Police have arrested an Indian man for the murder of a Bangladeshi colleague within 24 hours of the crime being committed.

The operations control room at Sharjah Police was alerted on Wednesday evening about a body found on a sandy patch behind the cement factory in Al Saja'a industrial area. The body was transferred to Al Kuwaiti Hospital, where police conducted an autopsy.

Police found that the Bangladeshi victim, Ghaffar S.B., had been stabbed twice with a sharp implement, once in the chest and once in the back.

During investigations, police found that the victim had been last seen in public heading out of Industrial Area 4 with an Indian man. Police were able to identify the suspect as A.K.A., who worked as a welder in Industrial Area 4.

The suspect initially denied the charges of murder but, on detailed interrogation, he confessed to stabbing his colleague over a financial dispute.

A.K.A. said he had lent some money to Ghafar, who promised to pay him back as soon as possible. When A.K.A. insisted on getting his money back, Ghafar said he would repay him once he received some money a friend owed him

. The two men reached Al Saja'a, where Ghafar's friend stays, but a fight ensued that led to the latter being stabbed.
