Dubai: Carlos Tenorio is nursing dreams of becoming an Al Nasr legend and insists he wants to be remembered as one of the most-feared hitmen in the club's history.

The Ecuadorian joined the Dubai outfit from Qatar's Al Sadd, where he scored 105 goals in 173 outings. The 30 year old has a prolific international record, having scored 12 times in 51 matches for the South American nation.

Tonight Tenorio gets his first chance to show what he can do in Al Nasr's colours when the side travels to Al Ain for their UAE Football League opener. "It doesn't matter how many goals I score as long as our team is winning. I see the pitch as a battlefield. I am a fighter and I have another 10 fighters to support me," he said.

"We will do a great job with teamwork, football is all about playing as a group; about teamwork. I want to write my name in the history books at Al Nasr club."

Meanwhile, his coach Frank Pagelsdorf believes the air of optimism surrounding the club will translate into positive results starting with the Al Ain match.

Three-time champions Al Nasr are in the hunt for their first league title in 23 years and the team built to launch an attack for the trophy this season seems to be by far the best in years.

The club was highly active in the transfer window and signed a number of established and up-and-coming youngsters, including Tenorio, former Dutch league players Anouar Diba and Ali Boussaboun and Iran international Iman Mobali.

Former Hamburg coach Pagelsdorf, who is 51 and has already signed a two-year extension to his contract, faces his first real test in the form of Al Ain.
