Sharjah: Two bodies were discovered Thursday behind Sharjah City Centre. Police said the bodies were found in an abandoned vehicle parked behind the shopping mall.

A senior Sharjah Police official said that the bodies of two Bahraini nationals in their mid-20s were found in a white vehicle Thursday morning in Industrial Area 1 near the shopping centre. The car's engine was still running.

The Operations Control Room at Sharjah Police said they received a call from a resident informing them of the discovery. A police patrol team was immediately sent to the scene to retrieve the bodies.

Police said that one of the victims was found slumped in the driver's seat while the other victim was in the front passenger's seats. The vehicle's windows were all closed but the car's engine was still on.

This is the third time this year bodies have been discovered in parked vehicles in Sharjah. The first case occurred in April when the body of a Russian man was found in Al Rolla. The second case was in July when a UAE national businessman was found in Bu Tina area. In the past two discoveries, police managed to prove that they were murder cases.

It was established yesterday that the vehicle belonged to one of the victims and was registered in Bahrain.

Police also discovered the passports of the victims inside the vehicle. The passports indicated that the two men had entered the country only two days earlier by crossing through the border of Saudi Arabia.

The victims were identified as A.S.A., 24, and A.M.A., 26. Police are investigating to determine the causes of death.
