Dubai: Hosts Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) took overall honours at the end of the Sharjah Ramadan Sports Gathering that concluded at the SLC premises on Wednesday.
The SLC team picked up the basketball and table tennis titles, while they had to be content with second and third positions in the volleyball competition which was ultimately won by the Amina Thani Team.
On the final day, the SLC team powered themselves to the title with a 47-43 win for the basketball crown.
The SLC players led by a narrow three points (29-26) at the end of the first quarter and then held on to win 47-43 in the end against the B2B team. However in the volleyball final, the Amina Thani Team proved too strong to win in straight sets 25-14, 25-19, 25-22 against SLC 'B' to win the title.
The awards ceremony was held at the end of the competitions in the presence of Nada Askar, manager of the women sports department and Badria Al Ali, manager of the media and advertising department along with representatives from the FAL Group/Abdullah Al Sari and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The Sharjah Ramadan Sports Gathering was held over two weeks.
