The curtain came down on the Dubai Schools football season at the Jebel Ali Centre of Excellence last weekend, as the finals of the inter schools' cup competition for juniors, intermediates and seniors all provided plenty of entertainment.

Dubai College were undoubtedly the season's in-form school with teams reaching all three age group finals.

In the junior final against Wellington School it was the experience of the Dubai College team that shone through in their 4-1 victory.

The intermediate final was a see-saw affair with the English College team matching the DC boys for long periods of the game. But Dubai College made it two out of two for the evening as they hung on for a 2-1 win.

The team from Choueifat Dubai began the senior final in fine form producing some neat football in a goalless first half.

However Dubai College started the second half very positively and deservedly went a goal up. Choueifat came back strongly and managed to net the equaliser, following a goalmouth scramble. In a nail-biting climax the game went to a penalty shoot-out, with Choueifat holding their nerve to win 4–3 and prevent a clean sweep for Dubai College.

Adrian Parry, Chairman of Dubai Schools' Soccer, presented the prizes congratulating the students on their efforts and discipline.

He also thanked the referees as well as Mick Leonard and Chris Brown from the Jebel Ali Centre of Excellence for their assistance in organising a wonderful event.
