The Filipino inter-school sports tournament came to a stunning end at the Al Shaab Sports Club in Sharjah with United International Private School emerging the big winners on an action-packed final day.

Four schools took part in the event which saw competitions organised in several disciplines but it was Dubai based United Private who clinched the basketball double with wins in both the elementary and high school level. They also took top honours in the Chess tournament which was held at Dubai Festival City.

The other schools in the fray were Far Eastern Private School, The New Filipino Private School and Pioneers Modern School.

There was tremendous energy among the supporters as well who more than played their part in spurring their teams towards glory and ensuring the event was a success.

Filipino Dazzlers Take To The Court

Filipino basketball fans are in for a real treat tomorrow when the country's two most popular professional teams battle it out for the first time ever in Dubai.

Pure Foods Tender Juicy Giants and Baragay Ginebra Kings will take to the courts of Al Ahli Club in what is sure to be the highlight of the 2007 Talk N Text PBA Fiesta Conference organised by the Filipino Basketball Centre.

Aside from the top-quality basketball on display, the crowd can look forward to other forms of entertainment.
