Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently adopted a highly sophisticated technology to clean the interior of its vehicle fleet, seats included.

“Thanks to the new technology, workers at DTC workshop can now clean as much as 50 vehicles per day (3 hours per vehicle) while consuming limited amounts of water. The use of harmless chemical cleaning agents renders the new technology environment-friendly,'' said Yousef Al Ali, Director Fleet Processes & Operations at Dubai Taxi Corporation.

“Previously we have been using traditional methods in cleaning vehicle interior; which consumes much water with a productivity not exceeding 12 vehicles per day. Moreover, each vehicle used to require one full day to get dry; a process which negatively impacts the level of service by reducing the number of vehicles on road'' added Al Ali.

DTC is planning to raise the number of vehicles cleaned to 150 vehicles per day and carry out the process in a periodical manner. They are conducting experimental use of a new type of organic perfumes inside Dubai Taxi vehicles operating from Dubai Airport.
