Dubai: International Humanitarian City (IHC), the global humanitarian hub established by the Government of Dubai under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the appointment of Makiya Abdul Rahman Al Hajri as the new CEO.
In her role, Makiya will be responsible for the implementation of all strategic, planning, financial and organisational goals at IHC.
“IHC reflects Shaikh Mohammad's vision and reiterates Dubai's commitment to serve as a key contributor to the global humanitarian scene. IHC has grown from strength to strength and has demonstrated time and again its ability to fulfil its role in making Dubai an effective humanitarian and aid hub,'' said Al Hajri.
“I am grateful to be a part of this establishment, which has a membership base of over 50 organisations, including local and international NGOs, humanitarian suppliers and United Nations agencies, and we will soon have new strategies and plans in place to grow the organisation further,'' she added.

Makiya has a proven track record through many years of experience in this field, as a result of her work with Children's City and other achievements, and we look forward to seeing IHC grow still further."
Prior to joining IHC, Makiya was a founding member of Dubai Children's City, under the umbrella of Dubai Municipality, which she headed for nine years.
International Humanitarian City (IHC) is a first-of-its kind global humanitarian hub, which aims to facilitate aid and development efforts by providing local and international humanitarian actors with facilities and services specifically designed to meet their needs.
An independent free zone authority created by the Government of Dubai, IHC consolidates Dubai as an essential link in the humanitarian value chain. More than 50 organisations and commercial companies are currently registered with IHC, which is a non-religious, non-political and non-profit organisation.
