The Higher Colleges of Technology are set to open the new year with their first Alumni Day.

More than 2,000 graduates of the male and female campuses will return to learn about career opportunities.

The event will also be attended by representatives of major organisations in the UAE who will help new graduates explore potential job placements and future studies.

Announcing details of the fair, an HCT spokesman said the event will be held on January 4 at Al Ain Women's College, under the title College, Career and Community.

The objectives of the event are to strengthen relationships between Al Ain College and their graduates, to help graduates learn new skills, help them choose the right university for further studies abroad and provide them with assistance to land a job.

Younes Proctor, senior training and career development officer for Offset Group, will be the keynote speaker.

He will speak on the challenges of the working environment, employment opportunities in government and the private sector, and opportunities and challenges for women at work in the UAE.

More and more students are making use of the career opportunities fair at the colleges and universities.

These fairs help the student community develop a perspective regarding careers and the current job market trends.

A website for the Alumni Day has been published on the internet at www.aac-alumni.com. Graduates have to use the online registration service to attend the event.
