The UAE's opening bowler Ahmed Nadeem produced a splendid spell of seven for 32 to destroy Seven Seas Strikers and steer ECB Blues to a five wicket win in the Emirates Cup cricket tournament being organised by the Dubai Cricket Council.

Put in to bat by ECB, Seven Seas batting crashed before the bowling of Nadeem, who maintained a good and length.

Only two batsmen stood up against the attack. Taskeen Siddique scored a patient 34, while Faraz Ahmed put up a dogged defence to graft 39 runs in 84 balls.

Seven Seas fought back by dismissing ECB Blues' first three batsmen for only 17 runs. Freddy Sidhwa picked 3 for 29 runs before Mohammed Tauqeer hit 52 off 44 balls with four sixes to ensure the victory.

Meanwhile, Consolidated Shipping Services (CSS) opened their campaign in style thrashing Farooq Cricket Club by 217 runs.

Farooq won the toss and put Consolidated Shipping in to bat. CSS thanked the offer by hitting up 320 runs in their allotted 50 overs.

Openers Rowmahs and Shaukat laid the foundation for a big score with knocks of 45 runs each.

Asgar and Kashif then played sedate knocks of 52 and 60 runs respectively. Naeemullah accelerated the run rate through a breezy 60 off 32 balls with three sixes and five boundaries.

In reply, Farooq's batting crashed before the bowling of and Syed Maqsood and Naeemullah.

Maqsood bagged 4 for 47 runs while Naeemullah and Aqeel picked up two wickets each Imran 23, and Rafi Raza 21, were the only two batsmen to resist CSS attack.
