Professional golfers from the United Kingdom and Egypt will be taking part in a tournament later this year that hopes to raise Dh150,000 for charity.

A total of 45 teams will be taking part in the 6th Annual BP Charity Pro-Am golf tournament in Abu Dhabi this November.

Each of the teams taking part will be made up of three amateur golfers and one professional. Professionals from Cyprus, Turkey, Egypt and the United Kingdom will be among those competing for the pro's prize fund.

The winning amateur team will secure a place in the Doha Annual Celebrity Amateur Golf Tournament in Qatar early next year.

Team places are allocated on a first come first served basis with priority given to last year's corporate entrants.

David Dalton, general manager of BP Abu Dhabi, said the money raised would go towards special needs schools in Abu Dhabi.
