Al Nasr retired footballers clinched the third football tournament title for retired players after defeating Al Wasl 4-2.

The tournament was organised by the Dubai Municipality at their club in Al Garhoud with eight clubs took part: Al Nasr, Al Wasl, Al Shabab, Al Ahli, Dubai club, Sharjah, Al Shaab and Dubai Municipality.

Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Al Wasl club Deputy President, attended the final and presented the trophy to Abdul Rahman Mohammad the Al Nasr skipper.

Mohammad Jalfar, Dubai Municipality assistant manager for Finance and properties, Rashid Balhoul, the Al Wasl club board chairman, also attended the final. The final took the fans to nice memories in the Eighties and early Nineties when the two clubs were sharing the titles and most of the UAE national teams were formed from these two clubs' players.

Mohammad Ali, Salim Rabea, Khalid Esmail, Thabit Suhail, Hasan Suhail, Abdul Rahman Mohammad and Mohammad Isaq played for Al Nasr. Fahd Khamis, Hasan Polo, Fahd Abdul Rahman, Naser Khamis, Farouq Abdul Rahman, were turned out for Al Wasl.

Mansoor Jamil scored [two goals] and Abdul Rahman and Mohammad Isaq scored one each for Al Nasr. Fahd Khamis and Naser Khalil scored for Al Wasl.

Obaid Ebrahim of Dubai Municipality was named the tournament's best player.

Khalfan Abdullah of Al Wasl was best goalkeeper while Khalid Mohammad of Dubai club was the top scorer with six goals.
