Sharjah: Sharjah is planning to set up a world-class training centre at Kuwaiti Hospital in collaboration with the World Gastroenterology Organisation and University of Sharjah.

The issue was raised in talks today between His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and Professor Eamonn Quigley, President of the World Gastroenterology Organisation (WGO), who is currently visiting the country.

He said the new training centre, which will be operational from next year, would be a valuable addition to the medical sector in Sharjah as it would contribute to developing medical skills in diagnosing and curing diseases of the digestive system.

Dr Shaikh Sultan lauded the role, mission and objectives of WGO.

Professor Quigley praised Dr Shaikh Sultan's concern for education and support for efforts aimed at

introducing most advanced systems to develop educational and scientific skills.

He said the training centre would attract professionals from inside and outside the UAE.
