Dubai: The much anticipated Hindi movie Don released in Dubai yesterday. Directed by Farhan Akhtar the movie is a remake of the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan starrer of the same name.

Bollywood buffs are locked in a tug-of-war over whether Shah Rukh can fill Bachchan's gangster boots.

Despite the hysteria and hoopla created by Don, there were all of four people to watch the first show of the movie, according to the ticket clerk at the Lamcy Plaza Cinema.

"This is because it is a weekday and many people are fasting because of Ramadan. But shows later in the day are almost running full."

As part of Don's promotion, a leather jacket worn by Shah Rukh Khan in the movie is up for grabs.

Mike Gracias, 57, said: "I am watching the movie to see if Shah Rukh Khan can do justice to the character portrayed so convincingly decades ago. Personally, I don't think Shah Rukh can be a match for Amitabh as far as Don is concerned. I recently met Amitabh at Dubai airport and I told him that India can never produce another Amitabh."

Gurdeep Singh, 32 year old Indian, said: "I am here to watch Don because there has been so much noise about the movie."
