Dubai: S. S. Son (EGC) and Tom Lovie (UGA) scored gross 74 and nett 70 to win their respective divisions in the Gulf News Men's Seniors Open Golf Championship at Arabian Ranches Golf Club on Saturday.

The tournament was an individual strokeplay event for male amateur golfers aged 50 and over. The round of the day came from S. S. Son who took the gross division with the steadiest of rounds, containing 1 birdie on hole 1, 14 pars and 3 bogies. This gave him victory by a single shot from Tony Dougherty (ARGC).

Dougherty's round was highlighted by birdie 2s on holes 2 and 12 and he must have been disappointed at taking a double bogey 6 on hole 11. The nett division champion was Tom Lovie (UGA) playing off a 14 handicap. The round of nett 70 contained 6 pars and a birdie 2 on hole 7 and a back nine of net 33. Iain Everingham (11) took second place, losing on a countback for the nett title, with 36 1/2.
