Dubai: Great Britain's Alexander Bull sent high-flying Malaysian lad Juan Antonio Los Santos packing with a clinical 6-0, 6-4 win to advance to the semifinals of the 6th Dubai ITF Juniors Tennis Championships being played at the Dubai Country Club last night.

Los Santos, who had knocked out third seed Vikram Reddy of India in three sets, was found wanting in nearly departments of the game as the Briton outplayed him completely.

Bull started off early breaking his 15-year-old opponent in the first and third games to power himself to a 4-0 lead. One more break and all he had to do was serve out for the set in less than 20 minutes.

Mentally tired

But the second set was a little bit of a contrast as Los Santos tried to push his weary legs to do some running.

"But my body was not in the match and neither was my mind.

"I have been tired, both physically and mentally," Los Santos told Gulf News referring to his three-set encounter against Reddy the previous day.

But making steady progress and putting himself in line for the title was second seed Pavel Liska with a fluent 6-2, 6-1 win against Russian Yury Vaschchenko.

Results:

Boys: Pavel Liska bt Yury Vaschchenko 6-2, 6-1; Ilia Shatskiy bt Zayed Montasser 6-3, 6-2; Alexander Bull bt Juan Antonio Los Santos 6-0, 6-4; Dominik Matousek by Nehal Kapoor 7-5, 6-4.
