Abu Dhabi: An awareness campaign to teach Dubai residents about emergency services and ambulances is in the works, in the hopes of changing people's attitudes in dealing with them.
The Ambulance Awareness Campaign (AAC) 2007-08, scheduled to run from August to June next year, consist of 14 projects targeting schoolchildren and the general public, dealing with a range of issues, including first aid, heart emergencies and construction accidents.
Response time
The campaign will also address the issue of traffic flow and giving way to emergency vehicles, a global problem, home emergencies and beach safety.
Khalifa Hassan Bin Darrai, CEO for the Centre of Ambulance Services, Government of Dubai, told Gulf News that the objective was to reduce emergency response times and thus improve patient care and survival rate.
"Educating the public about our existing services in first aid, health safety and emergency usage techniques is our main aim through AAC," he said.
