Abu Dhabi: Five shopping centres under Al Dhafra Commercial Complexes (ADCC) are currently under construction in Western Region areas such as Liwa, Sila, Marfa, Baynona and Beda Mtawa.
The Municipal Council in the Western Region announced that the ADCCs were being constructed on an area of 1,724 sq m.
Al Dhafra Co-operative Society (ADCS) was founded in 1977 under the patronage of Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan to serve the local communities in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi. It currently owns and manages more than 477 furnished blocks. Out of these 281 are residential and 196 are commercial.
Ahmad Saif Al Hameli, one of the board members of ADCS, told Gulf News that the project had been delayed because of the time it took to review the history of construction companies involved.
"We have high expectations in our contractors because we select them carefully. The most important factor for us is speed and successful completion of the project," said Al Hameli.
ADCS chairman Mohammad Sultan Qaran Al Mansouri said that the society is considered one of the largest economic entities in western region, making it necessary to develop and update projects in order to fit the growth the Western Region is witnessing.
