Dubai: The UAE national under-19 and under 16 youth teams have left for a three-week training camp in Germany in preparation for the Asian youth qualifiers.

The delegation, which is the biggest of its kind for national youth teams, was chaired by Khalifa Suliman, the FA technical committee member, and includes 70 members - players, coaches, administrators, technical and medical staff. The camp in Frankfurt will be from July 22 to August 16.

The under-19 team coach Juma Rabea - who refused an offer from Sharjah club to be their senior team coach to continue with the youth national team - said that the team will benefit from the training camp in Germany.

"The training camp will be of great use for the players. The weather in Germany will help us to train two sessions a day," said the UAE youth coach.

He said the team will play six warm-up matches with German youth clubs.

"To gain more experience for the players we will play six warm-up matches against youth teams in German clubs.

"The matches will be on July 28 and August 2, 5, 9, 12, and 15. We will return to UAE on 16, after three days we will leave to Yemen to take part in the Arab Schools Games from August 21 to 30."

Rabea said the team will continue training and play practice matches after returning from Yemen until the Asian youth qualifiers in October.
