Dubai: Dubai-based ADL Holdings, which runs Channel 7to9 on Ajman TV, has launched a new free-to-air all entertainment television channel in Kenya, marking its first foray into the large East African market.

Channel 2 group chairman Ajay Sethi said the UAE-based company was keen to radically change the look and content of the free-to-air TV market in Kenya.

''The leading stations are doing an excellent job in serving an increasingly discerning and discriminating consumer market. However the market is defined by heavy emphasis on news and analysis and we see this as an opportunity to enter the market with a specific focus'' said Sethi.

The entertainment TV station will offer programmes targeting segmented socio-economic grouping for maximum impact.
