Manama: The family of Jouri Al Khalidi, the Saudi girl who was kidnapped from a hospital ten days ago, has denied reports they were planning to raid houses in the Saudi capital Riyadh in an attempt to find her.

According to the reports that emerged on social media, Jouri's family and tribe would work with the police and conduct raids on private homes in search of the kidnap victims.

"These allegations are totally baseless and make no sense," said the girl's maternal uncle, according to Saudi news site Sabq, who did not name the uncle, on Sunday.

"We are looking for Jouri and we are working with the security agency, but raids and other security operations can be conducted only by the police. It is their prerogatives.

"We do value their efforts and there is no way we intervene with their work. They are doing their best and we are grateful for their dedication."

Jouri, aged 30 months, was kidnapped on November 20 as she was with her parents at hospital in Riyadh.

Reports said that he father left her at the reception while he went to perform prayers.

The hospital video cameras showed Jouri talking and playing with a man who used his mobile to take pictures of her. He then handed his phone to Jouri and encouraged her to run away playfully towards the hospital building main door. He then reportedly kidnapped her and carried her into his car.

No other footage is available as the parking area is not covered by any surveillance cameras, reports said.

The father issued pleas to the general public to help locate Jouri and several people offered rewards of up to one million Saudi Riyals to anyone who helps the family or the police find Jouri.

In the latest reward offers, a benevolent man said that he would pay all the expenses of an Umrah for the family of anyone who provides information that would lead to Jouri, Sabq reported.

The offer includes the man who provides details as well as his wife and his parents who will stay for three days in a hotel in Makkah.

Saudis have been following with a mixture of high anxiety and hopeful anticipation the news of the kidnapping, offering prayers on their social media accounts.

A video clip circulated on the Internat and that claimed it showed how Jouri was kidnapped was dismissed as fake by the police.
