After the British Grand Prix a couple of weeks ago, Fernando Alonso decided that he would upgrade from his ailing McLaren and get back in a kart.
Good idea.
And of all the tracks he chose to demonstrate his immense skills, he chose my home track. The track at which I worked at in the UK for eight years, and where I spent most of my time racing and skipping college.
If any of you want to see how to go from last to first in three laps in a Rotax-powered Birel D-MAX, then watch Alonso’s video at Daytona Sandown Park, in Esher, Surrey – if, however, you want to watch someone go from last to first in just four corners, get in touch in me (I'm too heavy now, though...
